7.5.6 (See all)

AV Audio Editor is intended to perform different types of operations involving audio. A welcome screen provides some quick start options, such as creating a new file, starting a recording, loading a CD and converting text into speech. There is also the option of taking a tutorial.

The application has an intuitive beautiful interface. Most commands are accessed through the menu bar, grouped in such categories as file operations, edition, effects, playback controls, view, noise reduction, analyze, bookmarking, tools, options and help. However, there are visual controls for the most frequent operations. Perhaps, you will find the navigation pane on the left particularly useful. It holds such command groups as Files, Tools, Favorite and Quick Edit. Most of the program’s window is occupied by panel in which sound waves are shown. By selecting the desired part of the track, you can apply any of the available effects, including noise reduction, voice breath suppression, speed change, echo, pitch change, etc. There are also some additional tools available. With their help, you will be able to apply the same effects to batches of audio files, combine several files and generate speech from written text.

On the whole, AV Audio Editor is an excellent application. However, I must tell you that there is similar free software. So, if you are running on a low budget, you can save a few bucks using one of these free applications instead.
